Alpe Campo 2’100m – Lagh da Val Viola – Lagh da Saoseo – Sfazù 1’700m / 11 km / Ascent 630 m, descent 1225 m / 6hrs with lots of absolutely necessary breaks 🙂
This week (October 22) the temperature went down dramatically, it is now the season of fall colours in the mountain. Today’s hike was one of the most picturesque ones which we have ever done.
A view from the bus at around 2000m of altitutde on the Bernina Pass. The winter is getting ready.

We arrived at Val Camp, today’s starting point, with a mini-bus packed with hikers.

Looking down the Lago Viola from the Val Viola and admiring fantastic colors of yellow larches with the background of snow-covered mountains, we went up to around 2200m. Around this area the new snow covered the path, and we had to follow the footsteps carefully.

The second lake, Lake Saoseo, is amazing with green water, the yellowed larches and white mountains. The air was crisp, but the sun was shining. We admired the views, along with many other hikers.
