Mettmen Hike

Mettmen 1608m – Matzlenfurggelen 1913 m – Kärpfstäfeli – Mettmen

We planned to hike to the beautiful Ängisee and then to Leglerhütte which I visited one year ago.

But when we stood at the first pass at 1900m,  the fierce and temperamental wind was blowing, and the menacing clouds were approaching from the south. So we decided to do a shorter hike from Mettmen to Kärpfstäfeli and just enjoy the autumn atmosphere and the dramatic scenery of the Glärnish mountain range.

We finished our hike nicely with a hearty soup and vegetable quiche at the friendly Berghotel Mettmen.
