The Haute Route – Day 14

St. Niklaus – Jungen – Zermatt

This morning we bumped into our Haute Route co-hikers from England again in St. Niklaus!
As they took one day off on the way, I thought I would not meet them again but to my great joy we met yesterday in Gruben (only one hotel in that village) and today in St. Niklaus.

We went up to Jungen via tele-cabin to see if we could walk up near the Augstbordpass (which we could not do yesterday).
The view from Jungen was fabulous. We could see the narrow strip of the valley, Mattertal, leading to Zermatt, which is our final destination!
