Courtenay Riverway Walk

Courtenay is not an exciting town. It has a couple of good restaurants like Locals and Atlas Cafe which we visited, but the town is a bit far away from main outdoor activities and loud compared to our last destination, Alert Bay.

However, my favorite place in this town is, the Courtenay Riverway.

It is along the Tsolum River, its estuary and around a small airport for small airlines. Some airplanes come and go in a loop. It is training day, it seems. In the nearby private and public gardens wild rabbits hop around.

It seemed that it is locals’ favorite walk path. Families, couples, friends are walking. I walked some parts early morning and quite some people were doing morning walks.

In the late evening the air was surprisingly warm and the sunset created a delightful atmosphere.
