Bivio 1769m – Septimer Pass 2310m – Lunghin Pass 2645m – Plaun da Lej (Maloja) 1805m;
5.5 hours of walking
This Lunghin Pass is marked as “Wasserscheide” (watershed or water divide point) and from here the water flows north-west to the North Sea, to the Black Sea, and south to the Mediterranean!
Today I was only planning to go up only to the Septimer Pass, but several hikers came down from the Lunghin Pass and told me that there was only a little snow and that I could get there without any problem. So I took the path to tackle this pass.
It was the end of October and unusually warm. The weather was as fantastic and the view from the pass was awesome.
The downhill path to Silsersee was extremely steep and rather intimidating, but the panorama towards the lake and the mountains was breathtaking! It was a very special autumn hike.
